What are the chances that one of the major tuners will develop a package for the 997 TT that will prove to be more powerful than the existing packates for the 996TT? In particular I am looking at the packages that are possible without upgrading internals for fair comparison with the 997TT (over time I am sure peope will be opening up the blocks on the 997TTs as well). Also, what are the costs/benefits of the packages on the market now for the 997TT. It could be conceivably cheaper to buy a 997TT and upgrade it as opposed to buying a 996TT and upgrading it; and the performance of the 997TT could be greater. Does anyone have any thoughts on this topic? I notice that AWE has already created a 700hp package for the 997TT.

 

The packages are coming, trust me. Something big coming from around this way in the near future.

But cheaper to mod a 997 TT is laughable at best. 996 TT's can be had in the 50's now, but lets say 70k avg for a good one, you can do a full motor build for the extra 50-60k and then its even ground as far as upgrading the turbos etc.

 

Aren't the 997 and 996 the same basic motor for the turbo.I read somewhere the 996 tt is only good for about 650-700 hp before you need internals.How will a 997 make more power?I hope they do because i have a 997tt LOL!
