BOXER4 is infamous around these parts
sorry everyone, but I may have missed this in the last 4 pages I just read, but am I correct in saying that as long as you have the 997tt rear calipers the rear 350mm 997TT rotors are P'N'P on the 996TT rear hub? Just making sure..thanks!!

Yes, BUT you don't even need the 997 rear rotors... You can just make an aluminum spacer and run the 997 caliper bolt.

thanks for the quick answer Mike.....actually why I'm asking is that I already have a complete 997tt set...I just want to make sure that the 997TT rears will bolt on without modification after I remove my 996TT set. I got confused reading that part of this thread...

Is the 997 the same size as the 996 caliper? Is it just a different body.. or does it give more performance..??

Mikelly.. thanks for good answers!

I don't think there's much difference in the performance of either caliper, it's just that the 997TT rotors are bigger that the 996's, so the caliper mounts different to accomodate this difference in size

There is a difference in the caliper's performance. It comes in the aid of a mid brace made intot he casing of the caliper. The pads are also slightly larger, but I'm not sure that they warrant the $1100 per pair that Suncoast wants for them.

well thats good news!!... as I thought just the rotors were slightly bigger all round, and that they just went to 6 pots in the front....now I really can't wait to install them....

No problems with the brakes themselves. The drilled rotors crack earlier than non drilled. I drive pretty hard and thus the rotors crack too often for me. Many people dont have the same problem and few switch to slotted only rotors.

The 6 pot doesnt provide any more stopping power than the 4 pistons, they just dont fade nearly as easily, and the rotors on the 6 piston last A LOT longer than the 4 piston even though they wll still crack at some point.

I want the other kit for the simple reason that I want to lose unsprung weight, and have my track rotors last longer. Neither of which should apply to you unless you track a lot.

I would need to know the weight difference as the weight is equally if not more important than the longevity of the rotors. I can live with $415 rotors that will last me 4-5 events. I HAVE to lose weight.
