I have the AVIC Z2 with IPOD, Sirius and Backup Cameras

I shopped around: looked into the Kenwood, comparable Alpines, but ended back at the Z2. If you go that route, you will need a new AMP. I am using the stock bose speakers. (Oh, if you do the Z2, you will need an experienced installer to help you "ground" the unit so that you can watch dvds, and use the advanced features of the NAV while driving.)

Excellent. I have my DNX7100 in the post. Good to hear that the Kenwood improves the sound quality, as the factory setup is pretty poor and its less hassle/cost if the sound improves without having to swap out the speakers.

+The Nav is simple and easier to use then my TomTom, IMO. The Nav is more accurate, as far as directing you, than the one in my RX400h. It looks nice and factory if installed by a competent installer.
+The setup is user friendly.
+It makes the factory speakers sound twice as nice.
-The issues I have is deal with adding or changing your background screen. Sometimes it sees my SD Card and sometimes it doesn't.
-It might take 10-15 seconds to initialize start-up.

I am definitely very pleased and satisfied with adding the Kenwood. I looked at the Alpine and Eclipse but wasn't too happy with the Eclipse I had in my other car.
+1
I'm currently using the DNX7100 and it's great. My only complaint on the DNX7100 that it does not come with Bluetooth or XM. You have to buy separate equipment. I bought the Kenwood Bluetooth Module and it's great but it set me back another 150.00.

How is the ipod connectivity for the dnx7100? How are the controls for the ipod? I mainly use the ipod so I'm very curious on that.

Can the DNX7100 use XM traffic? Which module is needed?

The description on the Kenwood site is pretty general.

So this unit does not have a hard drive?

I like the look of the interface & maps much better than the Z1/Z2 but my biggest reason for upgrading is XM traffic and BT.

There is xm traffic and BT in the pioneer series...and there is a rumored Avid D4 coming....

Good luck all. It is nice to have all of this stuff for 1/3 of OEM....

Kenwood 8017. The 8019 is out but I just put in the 8017 b/c it has sound field control... The Nav is Garmin and it is an add on box for $550 more. It works great and has XM Navtraffic and sat radio. The 8017 also has better internals for pure sound quality according to my installer, Dennis Barish.
