Question Navigation option

I'm currently looking to purchase a used 911 Turbo (since I don't have $130k to blow ), but I've found that the ones for sale usually don't have the navigation option included. So my questions are...

- Can the factory navigation be installed in a non-navigation 911?
- How much is the factory navigation system when it's not installed when the car is initially being built?

Thanks.

It depends on the year of the car.

2002 and earlier have PCM I

2003+ are PCM II. There are likely price differences between both. The newer units are MOST bus systems and require dealer programming with the PST2 system.

The parts alone may run close to $4000. The option from the factory is like $3200.

You might want to consider an aftermarket nav system. Likely less expensive and would likely perform even better.

Here is the PCMII version and as stated before you can ONLY fit factory navigation from the 03+ cars, otherwise it is a pain in the **** from PCMI.

Having had both, I can attest to the fact that PCM II is 150% better than PCM I. Even though it is CD based, it blows away every DVD-based Nav system I have used. (Infiniti, MB, and Lincoln) The only neg is the input "wheel", but the speed is second 2 none...just like the car itself!
