All good plans...
All good plans...
The best laid plans are often ruined by man!
So today, after getting back from visiting my father inlaw in the ICU at UVA, I went down to the shop... the plan was to install my GT3 calipers and 2 piece rotors on the car and check clearances for both sets of wheels I have. I knew it was gonna be a long afternoon when my son was there with another guy, negotiating the sale of his third Gen RX7 project car. After getting the drive shaft disconnected, the car loaded onto the guy's trailer, the sales agreement nailed down, and them on the road, it was time to settle in on my car... So I jacked the car up, pulled the right wheel, pulled the right caliper rotor, and promtly started scratching my head... No right caliper in my GT3 caliper kit... Yup, I had two left calipers... How it happened, I have no clue. However, this was an ebay sale and I have no clue how this will resolve itself.
So after much fussing and shaking of head, I stoked the woodstove fire, cracked a beer and started in on the driver's side... And was done in 45 minutes. And I'm happy to report that the brakes clear my brake cooling ducts, as well as my wheels, both oem turbos and the Victor racing wheels.
So I hopped BACK on ebay and found a right side GT3 caliper for $600 and I bought it. I hope to have it in early this coming week, along with some rear 997Turbo rotors I'll be spacing my stock calipers to work with. More on that next weekend.
Fun Fun FUN!

Wow, that sucks Mike. Hope you didn't buy the right side caliper from the same guy you got the originals from...if so, hopefully he'll give you credit on the extra caliper you now have.
Good luck!
