DIY Install on Precision Porsche Air Splitters
DIY Install on Precision Porsche Air Splitters
One of my customers sent me some pictures of him doing the install, so thought I would post a DIY on the mod. Alot of noobs around here so this may help.
Note: These are made in the USA. They come unpainted and fit with the factory ducts. You can view item and purchase here - http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...5-p-29454.html
Step 1 -
To protect your factory paint when you pull out the ducts, tape around the edges.

Step 2 -
Pull! There is only one way to get these out. You need to pull straight out. You wont break anything, just tug on it so it comes out from the clips. It will require some force.

Step 3 -
Place the new Precision Porsche air splitters in the center of the duct so they follow the lines of the part. Mark with a pencil on either side of the outside of the duct so you can find your center point to drill.

Step 4 -
Drill 1 hole on either side of the duct to start a small screw to attach the splitter in place. (drill holes before paint. then fit in place after paint)

Step 5 -
Once you install them and make sure everything is level, you will simply pop the duct back into place and you are done!
Install time is about 1 hour. Paint cost can be anywhere from $30-$100 depending on the shop. Enjoy!

$369.... TechArts are $600. Sorry but these are not the chinese ones that other Ebay vendors sell. Made in the USA. As far as insane price, compare alot of our prices and products to the competition, we have brought peace of mind
Give it a shot Garey!
Scorcher post your pics.
Thanks Woodster.

is this purely cosmetic? i don't see why splitting the air only to have it funnel back into a single passage is useful. Any tests done that shows some sort of performance impact to doing this?
Will do sir
I've got a set of TechArt front grille splitters on order from Germany too

I'm considering painting them a contrasting colour to my Basalt Black car, along with the mirrors and your air splitters - maybe this orange

...whaddya reckon?

I have a set that I've never gotten around to installing. Too much angle and this could actually cause the air going past it to tumble. I always figured that the bumper grates act like vacuums at speed, but does anyone think it could result in less than stock airflow? I'd hate to lose some efficiency after paying a pretty penny for these ICs.
