Navigation PCM1 advice

I just purchased a 2002 996TT with PCM1. The car is on its way..should be here next week. The car is from Florida, I live in Texas. Are there multiple CD's for different parts of the country? Also, I've heard most people are less than impressed with PCM1...any comments would be appreciated.

msindi is infamous around these parts
for the US there are 7CDs total by region for PCM I...
PCM II is faster and has abigger screen than I...Also, on II the entire US and Canada are on 2 CDs (or is it DVDs?)

one more thing - the CD drive on PCM II plays musin so you have in effect in-dash CD...PCM I comes with a tape deck (useless IMO) and the CD-Rom drive only reads map CDs...

Thanks for the info MSINDI...hopefully the car comes with the 7 CD's. If not I'm sure I can probably order them. If all else fails...I'll just listen to the tape deck.
