navigation question

2007 vantage V8 the navigation screen does not rotate all the way to vertical, it stops somewhat short of being completely “up” Is this normal?
The first to second shift is hard until the gearbox warms up. I had read somewhere that Aston Martin recommends an oil change of the gearbox, using a new type of oil, to cure this problem.
Has anyone had this done? What type of oil was used? Do you have to get this done at the dealer?

Thanks

You need the navigation gearwheel repairset. It's a common issue on older cars: the gearwheels get brittle over time and this i.c.w. wrongly used grease results in fast ageing gears. You can buy it here http://astonmartinbits.com/models/5-...tage/parts/676 and it's a fairly-easy DIY to tackle yourself

While you may indeed have a problem with the nav display, it does NOT go completely vertical even when working properly. You should be able to find some photos online.

Transaxle fluid change details here:

I recommend using the Castrol BOT 270A fluid-it's a dealer purchase item.

There was also a update to the bell crank on top of the transmission. This with the fluid change will help.
