Seriously though:
1. Second Gear Pop-out (coasting down hill in second, the car will suddenly jump out of gear)
2. Clutch Accumulator Ball going out (symptom: heavy or irregular clutch pedal feel)
3. Power steering Pump going out: (symptom: high pitch whine that goes away when clutch is engaged)
4. Hyrdrolics on rear wing going out: (symptom: wing won't go up and down, error on dash)

I'm sure there are others, but those are the big ones that came to mind.

Sounds like a tiptronic would be a more reliable buy as the first 3 issues are manual related (as is burning out clutches especially when upgrading).

I wouldn't let the above scare you away from a 6speed. Unless you are a fan of the tiptronic, i believe the manual gear box is much more fun in this car. Extended warranty is very nice. I've had my wing motors replaced, the power steering fixed, but haven't had the 2nd gear pop out problem. My major complaints are the stock seats suck and my car rattles like a *****. otherwise, the car is a blast. i didn't like the stock exhaust either, but that's an easy fix I still wish it sounded like a CGT, but what can you do?

Porsche 996 turbo manual hood release

10:30 friday night, leaving work late for dinner, left head lights on, battery dead as a door ****. Cut cat 5 network cable; twisted the brown and blue together, twisted the green and some color together, twisted the brown/blue on to the fuse box pull out , twisted the other one door hinge. Connected to my buddy's truck battery. And we were still stuck!!!! My god!! Then I had to insert the key to drivers door, turned the key to the left (alarm will sound), then you have to turn off the alarm with the remote. You have to do it in that exact order or the latch won't engage. Then, finally, one can pull the hood release to open the hood where I kept a completely useless jumper cable!! What the Hell??????????

For those of you who are saying, "push start you fool," well, you can't because there is not even a spark. I tried. =(

If I made this too confusing, well, it is!!! If you are stuck in the middle of no where and ran out of battery completely, you are screwed even if you have a jumper cable. AAA isn't going to help you either; you can't get to the damn battery. There is no way for you to get to your battery. Oh, by the way, the jumper cable teeth/jaw is too big for the little pullout on the fuse box.

Dr. Porsche: WTF?????

I named the title of this post what it is for some poor sap in the future who google these unfortunate words. And if there is another way, then sorry, my bad.
