Another Blowout
I can post a pic for you - any style in particular? I'll see if I have anything.
To be honest, most HRE customers get the 19" setup for whatever reason.
Gary has the RDC down pat - a 19" reverse uses a true 19" center, as opposed to an 18" center with a 1/2" step all around. The reverse rim is also double rolled (see pictures - note thicker outer edge) which is less prone to bending.
A little known fact - On the 19" R series wheels, HRE has gone to T6 treated forged outers...a great strength addition over the standard ARS-made H34 spun outers at no extra charge.

... and the "reverse" also means that on the inside of the wheel, the 1/2" raised area (that the non-reverse center would have been secured to) creates my favorite aspect of that wheel - a pool of water collects when you wash the car and needs to be soaked up with a towel or blown out with compressed air.
And, Duanne - that really sucks about your tires!!! My 315/25-19 Conti's have over 2,000 miles and show very little wear (although not on a TT). Maybe I drive like an old lady?
... hmmm... or is it that you are a madman ?

Reverse drop wheels??? (long but informative)
To answer the question of what a reverse drop wheel is I will point two examples that have been used on "production" cars. But first the answer to the question. Reverse drop notes the location of the drop center of the wheel (when there is no tire on a wheel there is a depression in the middle area of the wheel which allows the tire to be mounted). On a normal wheel this located nearer to the out side of the wheel (the area we all see). On a reverse drop wheel this is located much closer to the inside of the wheel and thus allows the "PHAT LIP" or shall I say FAT LIP look that so many people love. The two production cars that used reverse drop wheels were the original Volvo Turbo sedan and wagon from the early 80's and the the Saab 9000 areo (early body style) with the three spoke wheel and the diamond cut lip. Thes two vehicles used this style wheel for a long time. the Volvo was 15" and the Saab was 16". The other trick to reverse drop wheels, is that to mount the wheel the whole assembly must be upside down on the mounter otherwise your big, beautiful and $$$ wheel will crumple under the power of a tire mounter..... a very eye opening experience if you have never seen it. Sorry for the long explanation but i hope this answers the question of what a reverse drop wheel is.
