I changed to the hard rubber type. They are actually a Porsche part number. I got them through S Car Go.

Hi. Here's my guess: The harder motor mounts
will:

1 - Transmit more noise and vibration to the chassis
2 - Be more durable under high-power provocation,
such as repeated drag-strip launches

Depending on how hard they are, they may also protect
certain engine/tranny/drivetrain components that used to
have to deal with the relative motion of the motor and
chassis. Depending on how stiff they are, they could contribute
to a stiffer chassis, making the motor more of a stiffening
component of the chassis, rather than a big heavy 'loose filling'.
They would concurrently add more stress to the chassis
where the motor is mounted, and depending on how strong
the chassis is there, it might lower chassis life if the sheet
metal isn't designed to take it.
