A couple of new mods for the shark mobile...
Here's a better shot of what we did on Friday. As you can see the MAF is right there in a good position and working as per normal. You can also see that the decklid has no back plate blocking any air like in stock form. Hence I think I'm still getting the benefits of cold air through there as it's totally open.

The car scares me, as does the PSM. I actually think with the way my car is set up so neutral the PSM hinders and causes the driver more danger than anything else. Twice we had some scary moments going from immense grip and great neutral handlig around a turn to, sudden loss of brake and throttle and horrid understeer....
Anyways, I honestly think I have way more power than sense.
Sharky, well you do have a lot of power.
Looks like it's about time for me to upgrade to Kevin's turbos
My right side turbo is leaking....
I had a blast at the track yesterday cept when I lost my brakes...
Were you out on the last session? I didnt see you.

Hehe after going from his car to mine, Chris was like "Okie dokie then. I need more power now"....
I didn't go out on the last session. My brakes (more on this later) were fricking awesome but I kept getting a brake fluid sensor light coming on indicating the temps were too high. I suspect that this may be set to the temp for the stock fluid and with me using Motul, perhaps everything was just fine and running at higher temps but just not boiling over due to the higher temps possible with that stuff....
Kevin's turbos are bloody awesome. Even with my tuning not being in order yet, the lack of lag with the power means I don't have to worry too much about it punching in at the wrong time around a turn.
I did ride along with my friend in his drift-machine GTi

Ah this Focus
I've got a pic of you hunting me down too...
I'm just so scared of really pushing it out there with so much traffic and the number of changes the car has lol. Oh add to that I'm a total chicken... I'm a lot more comfy on Buttonwillow but then again it's a MUCH slower track. I saw four people go off in one fashion or another directly in front of me. Wasn't pretty

sharkster,
My guess is you are getting a mixture of ambient temp air with engine temp air. Only way to really know is to get an Andial Induction at gauge.

Nice. That is what I am looking at doing, myself. The more cool air, the better. I might keep the fan, but remove the spaces to the left and right in order to allow for more air to pass into the engine bay.
I just need to concern myself with the water-entry aspect of performing such an operation.
Has anyone dealt with/solved this problem as of yet?

And I've removed all of that other crap under the wing to get more air in. The sound is just intoxitcating...Water? LOL what's that? We don't have that in California...
