Pics of Valentine 1 installs?

Could you all post pics of your V1 installs? Can anyone recommend a good shop in So Cal to do this? What should it cost? I think i've pressed my luck long enough driving without a radar detector...

It literally takes 15 minutes to do by yourself. Kirby showed me how. Take a look at www.renntech.org and you'll find install write ups....

Well the problem with stealth (and I'm all for it) is the actual resting place of the V1 box. Even if you use the remote it's still usually placed on the wind shield. I was thinking of making some box to house it on my roll bar but other than that, I just don't know where else to have it mounted

Sharkster, my V1 unit is mounted on my roll bar. Out of sight, out of mind. The lights are in the mirror.

If you are looking for someone to do the install for you in SoCal, I highly recommend talking to Arling (20C4S). His guy did my install and it is sweet. Very reasonably priced.

I'll try to take some pics later...

Seems like the V1 needs to hard mounted somewhere. With the suction cups that are included, whenever I floor it (upsolute'd car) the V1 either goes flying off the windshield or bounces up and down like crazy.

Mine is hardwired with the main unit mounted just to the right of the rear view mirror (so it doesn't interfere with the driver's sun visor), using the sun visor clip wedged between the headliner support and roof, and the concealed display is on the steering column. Main unit is nice and stable, and there are no suction cup marks on windshield, so it's hardly noticeable from the outside. I paid $60 at a local stereo install shop.

Has anyone taken a V1 and tried to break it apart into its various sections (aka K40 style?) I have seen various pics of Rear View Mirror conversions (displays are in the RV Mirror). It seems like it would be a very slick way of installing one.

Found this site and thought it was pretty slick...for a BMW at least

They use some sort of interface between the V1 and the dash.

http://www.jaricdesign.com/

couldnt make the image work since its about 20+/- images to make up what they show..but in any event check it out.
