Turbo Hater Stories.....
I got keyed two ays after Christmas. I'm convinced that it was NOT in retaliation for aggressive driving (that day) or stealing someone else's parking spot.
Mostly, I get lots of compliments. And there's no shortage of Porsche's where I live.
BLKM3, you gonna make it to EuroSunday? I'm planning to check it out.

Yes I will be there. I heard the last one was a great turnout!
Ramon, how do you have the audacity to drive an expensive sports car you worked your tail off to own. Don't you know there are people out there that haven't worked as hard as you and aren't as educated and they drive cars that aren't as expensive as yours. You....you.. Rich ****!
I haven't had a problem yet.

I don't generally get ****... people know I'm too young for the cars to be mine, instead they just ask me questions about them, which is great... although I often get death stares when I'm in the Ferrari.
I was at Waterfest with two of my cars on display in a vendors booth two years ago. A young kid walked up with his parents and we started chatting about the cars. The kid (looked to be about 15) asked who the cars belonged to. I mentioned the S4 and 996TT were both mine and the other cars belonged to so and so. Funny thing is the kid looks me square in the face and says "these are both yours" in disbelief... I said "yes" then he says "you paid for them?" and they "belong to you?" and a few other questions trying to verify I actually "own" them ... I said that's what the registration and insurance cards say! LOL... The kid proceeds to ask me my age, what I do for a living and how I can afford such cars in a d!ck/disbelief sort of way still trying to prove it was impossible... His father at this point was quite embarressed and told his son to "shut it" and apologised for his son being so "obnoxious" He quickly says to his son that if he learns to work hard and get's good grades in school he too can one day own a Porsche. Father thanks me for my time and grabs his son and leaves... I guess I look young for my age which is a good thing...

I have always said it.... You make no friends in these cars.
The worst is if you ever actually make a mistake. For example, I was driving in an unfamiliar place and didn't realize that my lane (no sign) was exit only, so I had to try and nose in at the head of a line of traffic. In any other car, I would have gotten some stares, but people went absolutely apesh*t screaming and yelling.

Living in Miami, My 965 Turbo was stolen...
Attachment 64094
I've moved further South and put up cameras and posted signs
Someone tried to get my Cigarette and I now have a 6' high cement wall
Attachment 64093
All my neighbors and friends know what I do for a living and that I collect H&K's...People talk
My 996tt now sits behind this wall in a very comfortable garage w/AC
Light tint, revos and minimal eye contact, No more problems.....

I get very differant vibes depending on the car.
People take little notice of the 996tt and the only comments I've recevied were very positive. It's kind of stealthy and low key looking but I get comments from those in the know.
Everybody seems to love the Gallardo. It's thumbs up every where and I've never received a snotty remark.
Snotty remarks and glares are about 3 to one over good comments in the 430. Same when I had a 355. Something about a Ferrari torques a lot of people. In my opinion, it's a knock off on owning F even though I really like the 430.
When I had the Z06 every comment related to it being great performance for cheap. None of the cool car comments of the above 3.
I always try to be gracious about answering questions.

I had a previous business recipient (gave her the business) that didnt like the fact that I was doing well enough to buy a Porsche at 24. She decided to key "dick" in the side of my old 996. I thought it was rather nice of her.

while I don't own a Porsche I was at a car show with my '55 suburban. There was this decent looking C5 corvette there owned by a guy connected to Ronal Wheels. Well I walk up and start asking him about the car, trying to shoot the ****, etc...he doesn't want to talk...he just keeps blowing me off (why go to a car show). My dad had a C5 at the time and was looking into a blower and I knew this car had one...when I would ask he would just say "It's too fast for you" or "it's faster then anything you would ever own, etc".....these are answers to questions like "what kind of blower, how much boost".
About 2 hours later he sees me and gives me this look and goes "what are YOU still doing here!, haven't you seen everything?".
I look at him puzzled.....I point over to my '55 in the award winners row and go "That's Mine"...his jaw just drops and he's about to make a comment when I just turn my back and walk away
I do not experience any haters when driving the 996TT. Mostly a few compliments when the car is nice and clean.
When I drive my Cayenne I get more smiles especially from the MILF's. Strange but despite the high gas prices, I notice that I am driving my Cayenne more these days.

You don't need a fancy car to be hated. Last year at the Orlando supercross, I came back to my C230 to find some redneck had squirted ketchup on the driver's fender and windshield.
I did not witness the act but the body english of the guys parked next to me told me it was them.
I said "what kind of d*ckless f**k squirts ketchup on another persons' car?" and one of the rednecks comes up to my window and says......
"F you and your French car!" as I drove away.
It was beautiful. The ketchup came right off the car and did not stain the paint thankfully....
