hey guys i just order this from fvd http://fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/996_TT...um-tester.html but i have no clue how to use it. i am trying to find out if both of the wastegate springs are set to open at the same psi? am i suppose to get a tool that pressure the wastegate instead of vacuum?

It's just a simple hand vacuum/positive pressure pump. Hook the hose to the end of the tool and then to the wastegate. Pump the tool and watch the vacuum/pressure gauge. Stop when the wastegate opens and read the gauge. Check out this site for some info from Mityvac, a manufacturer of vac. pumps.

Edit: The top port produces pressure where as the front port produces negative pressure (vacuum)

 

I used a pressure cooker gauge on my vacuum pump to calibrate mine

I believe on a K24 car you want the wastegates to start opening at 12 psi. That will get you 1.2 BAR. Not sure on a K16 car.
