on the broken blow off valves - how do i diagnose? does this non give a service light? I noticed a bolt missing from the y-inlet pipe mount - does this happen (or is this a clear sign someone has been in there?)

the car has a little bittle of what i think is a rattle at idle. sounds like valve train noise to me - but I'm used to domestic v8s, so honestly I dont know what to think is 'normal' noise at idle?

thanks

Sounds like it could be a blown Turbo even...

Have you taken it in for a diagnosis yet?

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so I'd get them on the line ASAP and make them aware of what is happening, and that the car hasn't been right since it rolled off the trailer...

Best of luck...Ray

okay, seems to be in 'limp mode'. went to pepboy to read the codes, come up with p0327 - knock sensor bank 1, low voltage. seems to make sense that this would cause a limp mode, now I need to figure out if the sensor is unplugged, no good, etc?

suggestions?

where is the sensor located?

thanks for the feedback!

ok, found the problem! I figured the knock sensor was unplugged or something. So the sensors are BURIED in there. I ended up having to take the it down to removing the alternator, and could barely even see the knock sensor. So, I get it all apart and I see a bird skelton and bunch of crap in there. worked for an hour to dig that out, shop vac it all up, etc.

can't get a hand to the knock sensor - impossible in the car. I put a grab claw on it, and with a really long screwdriver got the connector off. sure enough, the damn bird chewed the wires off!

Reworked the connector, added new wire, etc. got it all back together and now it is working great!

thanks guys.

I knew I should have taken photos!
yes, 100% real. I've heard of cats and squirrels making 'home' under the hoods of cars, never thought it would be mine! this car sat outside for long periods before I bought it. I can see in the back upper area of the engine bay, the bird was picking the black foam insulation and using it to build a nest.
