I'm changing mine myself at 1,000 miles and I always do an oil analysis at each change. Normal interval for me is 2,500 miles. Probably overkill but oil is cheap and it can never hurt. I run 20w50 during summer/track season, 0w40 (manual recommended) during the rest of the year.

For the analysis, I include a saved sample of the original oil for a baseline to compare against the used oil I pull from the car. Because I am stage 4 and track the car, I really want to see anything falling apart before it happens. And yes, I keep a full logbook with receipts to enforce warranty issues.

take a look at the oil they change. I'll bet it is black as can be,,,

I would change at 3000 miles but it really depends on how you drive. How many short trips vs highway miles too,,,

My mechanic friend works on Porsches. He says that if you're using 15w50 or up or any other super synthetic, you'll be safe over 10,000 miles, but better to do it under. With the amount that the turbos are using up and the amount that you keep re-filling, it's almost pointless to change under or around 3000 unless you're REALLY driving it hard. I change at 7,000 just to be safe, eventhough it's still clean.

Every 3,000 miles here... and once a year the transmission/differentials get a change.

Like a few others on this group; I prefer to do the work myself.

I do my own motor oil changes...what's involved for the transmission/differential change??? Any special tools required to drain and fill??? Any major diassembly required?

Thanks
