Hi folks,

Milage isn't a issue since I'm gonna be tracking the car but definitely don't want to buy something that has been in serious accident so wondering whether you guys know more about it. Anyone know any history that won't show up on carfax?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-Porsche-911-GT2-Twin-Turbo-EXOTIC-FAST-MADMAN_W0QQitemZ200211569459QQihZ010QQcategoryZ101 56QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, is it a good deal? Are GT2 prices continue to fall; meaning shall I wait or is this the time? Coming from M3s and 996 GT3 (never owned a turbo car before) so I'm curious about my first turbo car.

Great price regardless of mileage if there are no stories. How many owners does carfax show? Any accidents?

Nothing came up the last time this one was on ebay. Only comments from some were that the mileage might be an issue, but I saw no issues with it at all...

Two things I'd plan to budget for...

Clear Bra
PF Floating Rotors and pads from OG Racing.

Put the PCCBs on the shelf or sell them on ebay.

When I was looking for my GT2, I never ran across this one. The price is pretty much consistent with higher mileage GT2s. It looks good in photos, but most of them do. Gaps are more consistent than some we have seen. I have difficulty believing there is no paint work AND no rock chips at 33k miles. Must have driven 33k miles never exceeding 30mph. It has cruise control...very rare option on GT2. I would ask whether other documentation is available (window sticker). Only one key? Ask for a high-def close up photo of the pccbs. Rare and special car. You might think how much more a 12k mile car would cost. Another $10-12K? Worth it? Good luck.

Thanks for the inputs, guys. I'm gonna wait and see how much they gonna offer my GT3. Carfax doesn't show any accidents but like the one from Chicago Motor Cars, you never know.

Already have those on my 3, Mike. Wonder whether I could carry them over.

Nice dude! You going for the gt2! Definitely going to be a very different tracking experience than the 3. Haven't seen this one before, but the pics are very 'studio' looking. I would make sure to take a look in person.

are you trading in the 3?

datax...if it checks out, go for it!

I am biased...but the UMW tuning changed the soul of my 996tt, and an exhaust.....and then you are done!

You will never go back to NA, are you prepared for that?

Good luck!

Definitely looks great in the pictures. Consider this. A car with high mileage was probably daily driven which is absolutely not an issue. I'd rather have a nice daily driver than one with 10K track miles.

Do your homework and buy it if it looks good. A track ho is pretty easy to identify in terms of wear etc..

At these prices, I think GT2s are a much better buy than a 993TTs. Just MHO.

Me too, I'd rather have a 30K miles '03 car than a low milage garage queen, eveything is in the PPI, if it checks out, go for it, GL.,cheers.

Ken buddy, what's making you want to switch up???

Listen, IMO I think you might enjoy the GT3 more, if you haven't experienced/bought a turbo porsche already, it probably says something in regards to your M3/GT3, the GT2 IMO NEEDS a LWFW and some suspension upgrades to really start having fun in it.

It is soooo damn different then any other car, so demanding but rewarding just like your 3, but in a different way. I auto-x'd today and was running within the top ranks, my first time auto x'ng ever, my co driver who is a pca national instructor who has a 914 racecar couldn't stop raving about how amazing the car was even on a tight demanding course like that!

IMO get some time in one first, your 3 is fantastic, but so is this, 2 different drivers buddy! if you lived closer I would throw you the keys and let you have the time of your life

Ken your rotors/pads will swap over. Not an issue, as they're both the same offset, according to research I did earlier in setting up brakes on my car.

If it clears...do it. Get the lwfw/tune/etc. I went with Kevin at UMW. I would call him (or another turbo tuner) BEFORE you buy so you know the $'s...not horrible considering you are in supercar territory now...but a few sets of tires.

The DGI 70mm exhaust is a best buy....ask Mikelly about it and the UMW tune, btw....

I went switzer...you saw and heard it at VIR. I love it, but I got lucky.

If you get this car, I will never, ever catch you in my life....you will be in another planet/league/dimension. You will need harnesses with the speed, and a hans device.... I will ask for a ride next year once you make instructor.

JB
