Is the B&M TOO short??

I do want to get a short shift kit soon, but can't decide which to get... I like the idea of a short crisp shift, but I don't want to have to "work" to get it in gear.... The 40% reductions sounds good to me, but does it take a lot more effor to get it in gear?? Any noise or "grinding" from the B&M?? Also is there a better option?? Where can I get a B&M for a good price, I see Evo has it, but is there a better (cheaper) place to get it.
Thanks guys,
Evan

our B&M is being installed as i type this. I will give you my impressions of it this afternoon if you'd like. We paid $225 at By Design. They also have a titanium version for 325 which i believe is totally unnecessary.

The B&M was the first mod that i did on my car..it's awesome.i think that porsche should offer a short throw from the factory like subaru does for the WRX......you will love the B&M.....get it

Try Bobby @ Foreign Affairs...i got mine for $199...haven't regretted a single penny.

I don't think you will find it to be too short. I would prefer it to be even shorter so I am adding the Ruf short shifter as well.

I have the B&M shifter and really like the feel and how it has shorten up the shifting pattern. I took me about a day to get use to the new feel.

..or, and I am not sure how the $$$ work out compared to two shift kits in series, but I did the B&M quick shift and then installed the Techart shift **** (pushed all the way down). It is pretty short.

ok, shifter is installed. i didn't drive it much but it is definitely very short. It will take a little bit of getting used to but is MUCH better and more precise than stock. I don't think i would want it any shorter than this but this was definitely a worthwhile $225.

Best addition I've made to my C4S. Besides thee fact that the throw is shorter, I really like the fact that it's more precise.

Etr,
This is the third B&M I've had on my P-cars. Initially, the shifting effort was a lot more than stock. I've had my latest B&M on for a year and the effort had decreased dramatically. Once everything gets loosened up, it becomes very smooth. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I also have the B&M, definitely and improvement over that row-a-boat thing. However, I will install a Ruf SS kit soon. I like it really short and dont mine the effort
