Thumbs up There's a New Exhaust Available

Hi all.

I had used Race Precision for some of my Noble's modifications and was so impressed with their products and service that I thought I would give their new 996TT exhaust a try. I'm sure glad I did. I just finished installing it and I was so pleased I thought I would pass it along to anyone thinking about upgrading their exhaust.

I was really impressed with the quality of construction and I like the fact that it is made here in the US. After taking it for its first road test, the nice throaty sound and the increased responsiveness of my car just blew me away. My car is totally stock except for the new exhaust. It used to have some hesitation with the stock exhaust, but with the RPI exhaust, it is now so much more responsive that it acts like I just added a power chip compared to the way it used to drive.

It's a terricfic product and RPI is a pleasure to deal with,IMHO. You can check it out here:

Here are some pictures I took of mine after I installed it:

I get some resonance only at 2,000 rpm if it is lugging and I give it gas instead of downshifting, but otherwise no. Pretty sure that RPI has done some dyno testing of the system. You can give them a call (owner's name is Eloy) and he can fill you in with more details. All I know is the system looks and sounds great and my car runs a whole lot better than it did before. He may even have some video of it so you can hear it.

It is considerably lighter than the stock exhaust. I didn't weigh them but it felt like it weighed half as much as stock.

You'll have to talk to RPI about the specifics, but I was talking to them yesterday about how pleased I was and they said they just had a customer come in yesterday with a Remus exhaust system. They dyno'd it with that system and then installed the RPI system and dyno'd it again. The RPI system produced 15whp more than the Remus system. I don't know anything about Remus, but if Remus is considered a good system, that may give you some idea of how it performs.

RPI sent me these pictures before I received it, so you can get a better feel for the quality and finish:

Their price is $3,750 (http://shoprpi.com/product_info.php?...87df903abc1189).

Everything is TIG welded and very nicely done in polished T304 stainless.

RPI is right in your back yard. You should pay them a visit and check it out.

I like it! My main concerns are CEL lights and resonance.

Group buy anyone?

No CEL lights on mine at all. Like I said, I only had some resonance at 2,000 rpm if I let it lug and don't down shift. I didn't have any resonance above or below that. The exhaust is 3" all the way and goes straight through the muffler on each side. No extra bends. You could roll a golf ball through it.

You should give RPI a call and see if they can do a group buy. I bet they would. I think they have a good supply on hand right now.
