Make exhaust quieter

So I test drove this 2002 tt yesterday

It has a gemballa exhaust, that sounded great at first, but after awhile I found it too loud.

Is it possible to tone it down (modify the existing) without having to replace it?

I know some systems have some sort of valve with a switch, can something like that be added to a gemballa?

The dealer said that the local tuners would be glad to take it, and swap it out for stock, but I'd rather just tone it down a notch. Appreciate the advice.

before you do anything, drive one with a stock exhaust for comparison...I'm sure you will then appreciate the performance and sound of the Gemballa....

no the valves in the exhausts u state open to make it louder ... i would keep it , im sure the dealer would love to swap it out for u cause they would sell it ans make some good loot off it.
