Having replaced way too many turbos back in the single turbo days, I doubt very seriously if either, much less both turbos, have lunched. I sounds more like a loose/disconnected/split inlet hose with boost going to atmosphere.

You've got to go to dealer on this one...I know it is painful but the sooner the better.

maybe you have a boost/vacuum leak. IF this is the case, then your turbos are getting no boost at all and the air is being released to the atmosphere via whatever leak there is in the tubing somewhere.

if that isnt the problem, then it is beyond my knowledge (which isn't too much to begin with). Maybe you have a problem with one of your diverter valves staying open or something.

Plus, I think that when the car goes into limp mode it has to be reprogrammed on the PST2 computer, no?

Well, just back from the dealer, and they diagnosed the vehicle having faulty diverter valves. Unfortunately they had none in stock, so they said it would take 4 days to get them Porsche NA. Have an appt. for Monday to have them replaced. Guess was wondering if I should get the aftermarket ones, and never run into this problem again. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone.

CANCELL THOSE DIVERTER VALVES FROM YOU DEALER!!! The stock ones are a POS and will fail again in about 5-8k miles if you regularly are on boost (who isn't?) They are made of cheap material (plastic i think) and are going to fail eventually. If you go aftermarket they are much stronger, hold boost better, and help the turbos spool up faster. You will notice a difference in the way the turbos spool after shifting when you upgrade your div. valves.

I don't know who a good tuner shop is by where you live, but just about anyone with competent mechanic skills can install these items, and they should run you about $150-175 at a good price. I think list is a little over $200 IIRC. While you are there you should change the air filter and get your car chipped GIAC or FVD too!!

Good luck!

My dealer replace the OEM diverter valves on my Turbo with Baileys...under warranty. Why pay to have the valves replaced with aftermarket valves when it's Porsche's design problem? Porsche is getting away with one when we pay to have aftermarket DVs installed.

Well, the car is till under warranty, so I figure I will have the valves replaced. I have read into the Baileys DV, and think I will order them today, and have them changed Monday after my service appt. Where is the best place to order them from? Also, if the diverter valves are changed, are there any kinds of warranty issues? Thanks again everyone.

AWE in Philly sells the Baileys. As Dock said, instead of having Bosch DVs installed, have the dealer put on the Baileys.

Well, the Baileys DV are now shipped to my house, and I have an appt on Monday with the dealer for the replacement of the DV's from Porsche. I am going to see if I can touch base with the mechanic working on my car and ask if he can just put the Baileys in. If not, then off to work (I am a finance manager at a dealership) and I will ask my mechanic to do the work. Simple enough, but don't know if I can go from Thurs to Monday with no boost, and even sucks more since I have the replacement parts sitting in front of my house from UPS.
I have to give alot of credit to AWE since they shipped so promptly. I ordered the DV's yesterday at 1pm and today they are at my house.

Also funny thing, I drove my 2002 M3 cab in today, and almost stalled about 3 times. I have not driven that car for almost 2 weeks, and everything is totally different from the TT. I actually did not like how the M3 feels now.

yep, once the M3 felt like a King... now it feels like a Buick to me. I have a coupe that is highly modded to, but it just isnt even the same ballpark as the 996TT, its not even the same league, or sport. I am selling my M3 now, and it is sad to see such a nice car go, but after being spoiled by one of the best supercars ever built I think I will be ok without it.

Hey Matt, I am in the same boat. I am selling my 2002 M3 cab. Was wondering are you getting alot of interest in your car yet? I had my first tire-kicker today drive about 65 miles from VA to yank my chain., and try to steal a car from me. Anyway, are you having similar clutch dysfunction as I am, or is it just me. I tend to over rev the M, and slam the brakes just to slow down. Pedal feel is a world apart from each other.

Was wondering, did you recently get your TT?

Keep your receipt for the Baileys and tell the Dealer you want them to buy the DVs and replace them under warranty.

My dealer bought Baileys and installed them, all on their nickel, and all under warranty.

This DV fix ( with Baileys) shouldn't cost you a penney...
