Ruf Rturbo 550 engine package: pros & cons?

Still shopping for my 996tt: HAS to be guards red, has to be a stick, many other items are negotiable.

LOOVE the red '02 Rturbo conversion on Ruf's site: anyone know what to expect power-wise compared to a K24 + flash & basics conversion on a normal 996tt?

You need to come to H town one weekend and check out all the P cars that we have hear. From a simple tune to a 3.8 GT3 cammed 996 turbo. This weekend will be around 40 plus cars doing a sunday Galveston Cruise?? You should come and check them out.

It appears super-clean. Has it been dyno'd? What's involved with the 550 package from Ruf?

I never had the car dyno'd. The 550 pkg has Ruf turbos, Ecu, Intake and clutch. My car also has Ruf Big Brake kit and Ruf Full Suspension which includes their Sway bars. The car is mint and it is the only Guards Red Ruf 550 in the country. It has full carbon fiber interior, carbon mirrors, carbon GT2 wing etc. The seats don't even have wear marks on them. 15k service is done as well. Let me know if you need any further details or descriptions. A few guys on here can vouch for this car and its flawless condition.

It's certainly one of the nicest I've ever seen. Kicking around the idea, but now need to wait for my wife's health to increase a little before I play further. My #1 pick for now...

Both those 996tt's with the 550 upgrade ( 02, 05 ) @ the Ruf website look like they would be clean & awesome rides.
