Recently, a buddy of mine installed intake and exhaust system on his 06' C6 (auto). He claimed that he dynoed 438hp at the wheel but never showed me the dyno sheet. He talked about how he can easily beat my 996TT (tip) from roll or stop. From what I know, the Turbo shoud be a few ticks quicker if both are stock... For those who has encounter(s) with C6 Corvettes, what do you guys think?

 

He'll walk you, easily if it's a Z06, otherwise, it should be a good race.

 

The stock C6's LS2 make around 355hp to the wheel. I highly doubt a CAI & exhaust is going to net anyone 85hp. He'll need a cam, headers, and a tune to approach his stated #'s.

thats a bunch of bull****. my buddies c6 needed a stage 2 head and cam to make 440 rwhp, and tuned by Livernois motorsports

If it's a Z06, as I suspect it must be, thats about right, outta the box.

 

do they make an AUTO zo6?? I didnt think they did, so I dont think he was talking about a z06..

 

All those dyno graphs are from big cam/header combo cars, which add lots more hp than your buddy's CAI & exhaust. av2 --- I would put my money on you from a dig, 60 to 130, or top end. Don't let him off cheap - you could use his money for more mods !

C5 Z06 (which is a hair faster than C6 Vettes) are pretty even with stock 996TTs.......it'll be some good runs if you line up

 

+1!! It will be mostly up to driver. If you guys both get a fairly close start, I think you guys will be just about even completely. If one gets a slightly better jump, they may just crawl away.

 

The 08' C6's have more power, like 436 at the crank. I think it would be equal to an 996 X50 or Turbo S.


But his is an 06 and an auto, I think it will be close, but with his mods he may win if yo uare stock.

 

Not matter what the Vette's horsepower, Ive never ran one that didnt blow the tires off while I walked on it, but a couple of Z06's did pass me hard once they did hook.
