I know alot of people in the burbs use Chicago since its more recognizable, but i'm curious how many here actually live in the city? I'm looking for a 996TT but the streets downtown are horrid. wondering if you all take em out in the burbs or just go real slow...

 

I live in the city near Skokie but still in the city.
just dont put on 19s ... if u stick to 18s u will be fine...

 

i live in the both the city and the suburbs - my DD i use for coming and going from the city - i decided to take my 996tt cab down a few weeks ago (when i still had it) stock wheels, and i wouldn't do it again - the streets are terrible, and almost every store/ restaurant around has an incline entrance or exit and your lip, be it a scrap lip, will scrap and at some places the car will bottom out completely... its not fun and makes driving the car even less fun and just worrisome, im not even thinking about taking my 360 down unless it just a cruise around the the nice areas, where daly actually cares about

 

I live in the burbs and work in the city, you just need to pick your streets and don't valet or street park.

 

I live four blocks from the City border, the car is fine on the North Side. Downtown can be iffy in spots with potholes etc.

 

This year has been the worst for pot-holes. With all the snow and now the rain,driving anywhere sucks. Even driving my Range rover i have to be careful as some of the holes are HUGE. I even have one in our shopping mall that our landlord has not fixed for 2 months now and is bigger then ever.(cant drive around it) I don't think it matters if you live in the city or the burbs,Pot-holes and ****ty streets are everywhere. But if i lived Downtown i would not even own a car.

potholes weren't as bad as they are now back then

I live in the city, and yes this year has been especially bad with potholes. In My G35c I play dodgeball with the potholes constantly when I'm driving.

Just keep your eyes open and pick your roads.

 

I'm in the western 'burbs and there's tons of potholes out here too - the last-minute swerving helps to sharpen your reflexes!!

 

I think the suburbs are just as bad as the city. Anybody drive on Lake Cook and Waukegan Road in Northbrook/Deerfield?
