Here's the details. I went in today, and the deposit was 1k fully refundable in Florida at least. I went to Palm Beach Motorcars. My salesman was Tracy (A guy). He was really a nice guy and told me I could probably pick out the options around June and have an expected delivery around Next Sept. 06' model. I was given a really nice hard cover book about the car which included a leather wrapped CD Rom. It sounds like total production numbers should be around 2200 per year. Just to get an idea, they produce 300 Vanquishes per year. The AMV8's delay has been the fact that they are building a brand new plant to produce the car because of the different engine size. They will paint to sample from what I understand for no additional charge.
Not 100% sure I believe that though, just a rumor I heard. He is setting up a demo on a DB9 when they come in because they are very similar in appearance and drive, other than the V12 is a little too steep a price in my book. It may not be a Turbo, and I was planning on buying a pre-owned Turbo, I just wanted something different and a new interior view than the 996 I have had for over 4 years now.... I am really excited!

Shawn,
I'm totally with ya - I'm lusting over that car also, but am not happy about it being British and only coming with a 2-year warranty. It's about the sweetest looking car I think I've seen lately, including the GT, Enzo, etc. I'm starting to contemplate putting money down as well...that's about the time I will need another car.
PM me if you have any further insight.

Oh, I forgot about the numbers. Straight from the horse's mouth /AM.
4.3-litre V8 close to 400HP and 330lb ft of torque. Compared to the 997's 3.8 litre's 355HP and 295lb ft torque. I dont think it will be much faster than the 997 though. and if it is it wont be by much. sub 5sec 0-60 and 170+MPH.
Never heard of the 2 year warranty? Is this confirmed on the AMV8?

Shawn,
Not particular to the AMV8, just Aston Martin in general, but I did read on one site for the AMV8 that it would have the 2 year/24k warranty. Blows.
Too bad the V8 won't have turbos, because if it did, it would be ever-so-easy to mod with a nice chip upgrade...

It's English, and Ford - it will NEED a warranty!
turbo would be so much easier to mod, and without the dealer knowing, most likely. Supercharged version sounds okay, but will probably add a significant amount to the price, whereas a chip upgrade can be as little as 1k-3k
