More food for thought in this discussion. When I had new wastegate actuators put on my hybrids, the actuator rod that I ended up with was at least twice as thick as the stock rod.

I've got the EVOMS WG's on my GT2 and have never had a single problem with the rods. I did the install myself in about an hour including pressure testing so they open at the right PSI. They've been on my car for close to a year.

This is by far the best $300 bucks I've spent. Everything else with the exception of the ECU flash has provided small, sometimes undetectable, gains and cost big bucks, this is not the case with the WG upgrade. Noticeable gains in low-rpm torque, and better throttle response.

I have a reasonable amount of track time and I would say this isn't a problem at the track. Due to the additional low-end torque, it allows you to hold slightly taller gears through the slower corners without sacrificing the power needed to exit. Places where you normally needed to downshift to get back to the powerband will not be a problem anymore. Additionally, carrying a taller gear give you more control over acceleration too.

Ok, that's pretty convincing right there.

After 80 posts worth of convincing, you better come back with your impressions.

I bet it looks like this

What I was told was the pressure required to oversome the "springs is margainal, which is why you don't have "ubber" stiff spring requirements, like other applications. I'm not sure if it's equal to manifold pressure or not, but the result was simply amazing, and everyone else who'se swapped out the W/G springs has commented about the crisp throttle response, and fatter torque band.

Yes, there is no argument that the upgraded WG springs are very worthwhile. I just suspect that you can get the same results with a quality MBC. I doubt that the pressure against the wg door is enough to overcome the stock WG spring at 12psi of boost. Somebody prove me wrong.

Chris, trust me, the springs make a difference. You can not achieve the same results with an MBC/EVC. All they do is "hide" the signal going to the actuator. The spring in the actuator still starts to open under whatever pressure the spring opens at, the MBC/EVC just affects at what pressure it will fully open.

Just do it already man, you'll LOVE it!

heavy chevy not sure what your exact set up but I remember sevarl GT2s we did with just a flash, Europipe Stage II, EVO headers, EVO waste gate boost kit and DVs. Put down 520-530rwhp on a dynojet.

That's about what mine does without headers. I may gain some power if I took my straight pipes off and put a good power making exhaust back on. So my car is making the power it should.
