I can send others but I question the value to you and other forum members. It's just a pic from about a 45 degree angle, a pic with bolts through caliper and spacer and a pic of the spacer torqued in place. Final dimensions were 1.00 wide, 0.450 tall, and 6.270 long.

Great post Mikelly.

I need to replace rear pads..would Pagid blacks be a good choice for mostly spirited street and occ track.
Do the Blacks squeak?

Blacks squeal like the dickens on the street, it goes away when they get hot. Conversely RS29s will not squeak as much when cold but will a tad when hot.

If squeaking is a concern, I'd go yellow, but they are the most expensive.

Thanks HC. Might go yellow. Front pads are almost new oem...any major probs(for road use)with different compounds front/rear?

Highly unlikely as the TT's are very stable braking from even highway speeds. If you are braking as hard as you can while turning the wheel some it could cause some instability though because of the grippier compound in the back. You should never be doing that, but there is always a chance if you have to avoind an emergency.

If you drive track speeds on the highway (120-170+) I'd ask around some more, I dont think it would be a huge problem, but your tires and alignment can exhaggerate the affect and high speed instability in braking isnt very fun.

I guess it depends on how spirited the driving is, but for 99% of it you'll be fine.

I bought the UMW 'Big Yellow" GT3 setup with 6 piston front calipers and 350mm discs at all 4 corners and it fitted up perfectly without any mods. Much better car control. I use Pagid yellows up front and Pagid blacks on the rears to compensate for the front braking bias.

I'm going to change out the pads and rotors myself this weekend. Anyone want to post the 'How to' before I just start in on it removing and replacing parts?

How long are the 997tt rear caliper bolts. I was sent some to go with a used setup I bought but the bolts are black and the fronts sent were more silvery gold. Just want to make sure they are the correct length.

thank you all

bloody good thread chaps !
helping me out so much !
ive now done two track days and have no brakes after 4 - 6 laps.
ill only track the car about three times a year ( i have a dedicated car for track work), so dont really need to go over the top on brake spec.
i do like pagid brake pads , but when i ran black 14s on my cayman they took out the discs after three events (cracked across the drillings).
im looking to go with ebc pads , fluid upgrade , and if i can find a disc that will fit the standard caliper - something with no holes , just slotted.
any ideas ?
all the best.
dub.
