If so, what sizes did you run on the rears? I know narrower would be better so want to find out how narrow can go in the rears - I assume 265 would be too narrow. Thanks

I have 265's on my 11" hollows.....funny looking, what Porsche "used" to recommend a few years ago around here. Damian at TR said it was a bad idea. No issues for me save it looks really lousy. I plan to get better winter wheels one day.

Rim is wider than almost all of the rubber...hard to explain...someone else have a picture?

Anyway, stable at speed for me....I wouldn't track the car obviously...but it seemed fine on the interstate and for driving around as my everyday car.

Back to work for me...good luck.

Yep the 265/35/18 is the best size, same diameter as the original.

It just looks a bit bad, but no issues with performance.

i have 265 blizzak LM22 mounted in TechArt 10.5" wheels and even on 10.5" rears, there is a bit of a gap between the wheel and the tire. 265s really need to go on 10" rims to look right.

i checked with tirerack and 265s on a 10.5" wheel is acceptable/safe/approved, however, i was told that tirerack will not sell a 265 on a 11" wheel, it's not approved and not safe

get some replica turbo wheels with 18*10 rears and you will be better off, a set only costs like $500

Or just use you stock TT wheels, I have 265 Goodyear GD3 for my winter setup on my OEM TT wheels. It works with NO issues, why spend the $$ if you already have the wheels?

Sounds like stock will be OK. Does anyone have pictures? I am still trying to figure out how it will look with tires that are over an inch narrower. Separately, I also found that tirerack sells a pirelli winter tire that is 295 so that may be another idea. Thanks for all the responses.

Would it be possible to use an extra set of front rims on the rear tires? That'd make for a narrower rim. Just don't know if that'd be too narrow.

Here is a picture of my car with 265 width Dunlop M3 winter tires on 11" stock wheels. Doesn't look too good, but worked very well in snow and ice, with no issues.

Not everybody recommends this combination!

The both look fine to me - I guess not idea but looks like a good solution given it is free (vs buying a new set of wheels)...

AGAIN, 265 on an an 11" wheel is beyond what the tire is designed to work on. It pulls the beads too far out, convexing the treadcap and stressing the sidewalls of the tires. Improper wear and/or overheating could result. Not to mention at a minimum it provides no protection to the wheel and looks downright silly. These are 100k cars guys, spend the money to get the right wheels and tires for the winter.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. 275 MINIMUM ON 11" WHEELS!!!!!
