Hey guys,
I have ?, My car is showing a 1.4 bar with an Upsolute chip, AWE exhaust, diverter valves, and air filter is this possible or is the gauge wrong..

Reason asking is because someone told me u can only get a 1.4 bar with all my mods and bigger turbo's....
Is this true!!!

I have GIAC stage 4 GT (TURBOS, EXHAUST, ECU, etc......and only saw 1.4 once.

 

With K16's you should be running 1.0BAR MAX!! Anything more is a bit too much for the turbos....1.4 is too high for even K24's!

I had a set of hybid turbo's that had a K16 hot side shell and Garrett compressor side. They recorded 1.5 bar easily. Yes, the guts were modified and they had a mid to low A/R ratio.

 

We'll i seen the 1.4 bar once and a 1.3 a few times but most of the time it is 1.0!!!!!!!

Is it bad for the car that i'm seeing the 1.3 and the 1.4 bar.....
or do u think the gauge is just wrong...Cause the car seems fast *** hell!!!!

I am talking stock K16 TT's not modified in any way...that much boost and those things will be gone pretty quick...

Lets establish when. Are you seeing this if you are simply holding the gas down or are you seeing this the minute you let up on the gas? A momentary flash under decel is normal. 1.4 on a stock K16 will KILL the turbo.

 

The 1.4 bar will show when i run the car really hard....Taking the car in tomorrow to the dealer......The check engine light has been on for a few weeks now......

Something is not right, thanks guys........

 

so how much boost can a K24 turbo handle? I see 1.3 bar momentarily is this overstressing the turbo?

I saw 1.4 bar boost a few times with my stageII evo hammer kit. The reason is that the vehicle's boost sensor is before the throttle body, so when you shift the throttle body closes and for a split second, the sensor will read 1.3-1.4 bar boost. Do you get the 1.3-1.4 under boost or when you let off the gas? Todd at Evo informed me about the high boost when I had asked him earlier

No Lawrence it's fine. It doesn't hold that 1.3. It's just a momentary spike and/or when you let off the gas Your car does about 1.0/1.1 bar. Actually that stock gauge is crap, when you do the gauges like me you can record a much more accurate number
