Boost Problem- HELP ME ASAP!!!!!

Took the car out, drove 20 miles and the car was running perfectly. All of a sudden I notice almost a complete loss in power, and look down to see only 0.3bar when WOT. It was consistantly holding .3bar on the way home. I stopped and checked what I could, and all appears OK. Reflashed back to stock file, and then back to performance file. No resolution. I am running UMV DV's.

HELP, all my buddies are still asleep!!

Unplug the battery for 15 minutes, see if it resets. Otherwise, could be a number of things, boost leak, DV's are faulty, wastegate rod snapped.

I just find it strange that it would all of a sudden hold .3 bar and not spike or hesitate. It was like my car had been programmed to max out at .3bar.... Im wondering if the wastegates are stuck...?

Jack her up and take a look. Do you have aftermarket wastegates?

Did the battery trick. Then unplugged the MAF and started the car, turned the car off, and plugged the MAF back in. Now all is good.

Thanks 9Eleven

alex did you go beyond 1.35 bar? If you did the throttle body may have shut down on you and the car gone into limp mode?

Nah the car was boosting fine before the shutdown. Holding 1.2bar. It did feel like I went into somesort of limp mode, and thats why I figured maybe a reflash would sort out the problem...but a good ol fashion battery reset and MAF reset took care of it. Im hoping it doesnt happen again!!!

BTW Johns car pulls so freaking hard..not the he boosted it or anything..... Its a totally different feeling than my car. Now he just needs some freakin cats

I couldn't figure it either by reading the thread and I am always interested in learning new stuff. Boost leak possibly? Or MAF problem. I am glad you fixed it. I was having the reverse, boost was going to 1.6 BAR, it's designed to go to 1.4 only. So keep in mind, if it goes up more than usual it could be the boost control valves. I just fixed mine.

Something caused the ECU to go into limp mode. I believe it was an incorrect reading from the MAF while driving. After a quick disconnect of the battery, and then starting the car with no MAF, the problem was solved.
