Here are some shots of the GT-3 cup front brake scoops compared to the stock 996tt scoops. The diference in airflow should be obvious. I will see if they are too low for street driving.
You can also see the heat shield that is on the rear of the brakes. This is terrible from a heat dissipation standpoint (that is what brakes are ... mechanical energy into thermal energy). I am going to remove them and dramatically improve brake cooling. The front shields are much smaller and I may not remove them. You can also see the rear GT-2 brake duct.

I just ordered the same parts the day before yesterday. I am sure that they will go a long way in solving the heat problem under track use. I also ordered DOT 5 brake fluid that the dealer says is from Porsche Motorsport as well. I was going to change into Porsche Motorsport pads, which are basically Pagid yellows but to Porsche specs, but will hold off on that.
Finished the brakes. Pulled the rear heat retainers (dust/water shields ... terrible ... anyone tackling should pull these). Installed Pagid blacks without the vibration dampers. Blead the brakes with Castrol SRF, best brake fluid available $75/liter, but if cost is a concern, ATE blue and others are almost as good as long as you change fluid frequently.
Now for the bar, GT3 seats, harness, FE, shifter...

I don't think the front air scoops are too big from a GT-2 standpoint unless your car is at GT-2 spec height. I know a GT-2 owner who ripped his off on a speedbump and yet I have never had a problem of these air scoops even scraping. I am 11 mm in front and 15 mm in back higher than GT-2 spec. My fluid is super blue and changed before each event. My pads used to be blue but have since gone to orange. My front rotors are 14" racing floating cross drills from PerfectPower. My track temps are drastically down and I haven't yet removed the dust shields in front or rear. I have braided lines not for preventing fade but to protect the lines in case of debris or a tire blowout. My brake wear sensors are tied off and not in the pads b/c at the track the pads can get hot enough to set off the wear indicator lights on the dash. Finally, I never use the vibration dampeners. So even though I have a very fast AND heavy car, these changes are doing well for brake temperature management and longevity. I think this is particularly helpful in the warmer summer south with racing slicks on the track.
Colorchange, do you find the padget blacks noisy and are you aware that they are highly NOT recommended for street use as the official padget position? How do you like them? I may change to yellows. I used to switch pads each time I went to the track but then eventually left on the "race pads" out of laziness.

Thanks Ken:
James: I will tie off the front wear sensors, thanks. I did tie off the rears but left the fronts since there was little slack to get in tangled anywhere.
I have not tried the blacks yet, I will do so next week. I will change the pads only for the track and switch back to stock when I return.
