Has anyone tried to do a single really big turbo? Like a t67 or larger? Or is that a bad setup on the 996TT

It comes down to how much boost you want to run. Assuming my turbos didn't run out of gas...I would hit 1k rwhp at just above 2 BAR.

Well, VR alex has something in store for all of us... just wait... and if it all comes together he will be very very close... so far he has put down some good numbers except some fueling changes need to be done... parts are inn and he is getting it done as we speak.
no I don't think any 37rs are on a P car.

I assume you mean Bello's car. Other than his, no other P-car that I'm aware of has gone over 1k rwhp.

And yes I think it will take 2 bars of boost as well...
according to Todd , .1 bar is good for 25 rwhp... So if Scott runs it up to 2 bar he would be close...
mark

Not that 1000hp doesn't sound cool, but every 1000 hp car I have seen is hard to control and usually cannot be run hard against cars with less power.

A good example is the recent supercar shootout which VRalexander won. I am sure there were many cars there that were 1000+ hp, yes they did not win, infact that viper that spun out probably did so due to to much power and no way to control it. Anyway just my 2 cents, on when is enough, enough. I have a buddy with a true dynoed 920 RWHP Viper GTS, which translates to over 1000 bhp, and he couldn't hook up to save his life. Another guy with a near identical setup ran 1/4's in the low to mid 10's, yet the 800 hp 996TT's in here are running the same or better 1/4 times with over 200 less HP. Will that extra HP do anything or just make things worse.

By the way I heard that there is a guy in Puerto Rico with a 2 liter Mitsubishi that pumps out 1500 to 2000 hp. The 2 liter block is custom built to hold the pressure so I am told. So I guess anything is possible.

It's all in the way you set the car up. I've seen cars with the same exact setups be 2 seconds apart in the quarter. Also keep in mind in most cases what someone maxes out at on the dyno, isn't what they are always racing at, and atmospheric and temperature changes things exponentially with a turbo charged car. It's only a matter of time before the traction control in standalones is up to par with high HP turbo charged vehicles, there are many ways to address this with gear dependent boost maps, wheel speed sensors, pulling timing, etc to get traction. I don't expect anyone to run 1,000hp in 1st gear, but towards the backdoor in 3/4/5 you will see the difference in power with ease.
