GT3 vs. 02 Turbo
wonder how your car would do with another 100 hp?
are you trying to pick a car or make an investment?
Hello Tom, I fully agree with what you mentioned, I own a 03 996 TT, protomotive K24/18G's, RS motor mount, Brembo GT brakes, moton, etc...the overall makes my car faster than any GT3, but this week, I bought a 08 white Gt3 RS, and honestly the feeling is day and night..even if I love my TT, the RS is just something else..so I guess, impossible choice, except the Gt3 doesn t need as much money to be invested as the TT to be trully track competitive..I just love them both...I m a keeper
faster in a straight line...my car told me that I was driving it too hard...haha, go figure...no really..."car being driven under extraordinary conditions"...haha
The fact is you can't think about buying cars that way. You have to figure with 5 to 7k miles in a year and normal wear n tear, the car will lose a good 1% of it's value per month. ESPECIALLY a brand new car.
If it doesn't and it becomes a sought-after collectors item, then great!!!
Bottom line, buy the car you want, and expect it to depreciate the way any $115,000 car will (losing around $15,000 the 1st year). If you can't stomach that, you have no reason buying a car this expensive.
Just giving you my best advise. GL with your decision.

Personally, I would miss the boost, but then I have never driven a GT3. Have been for a ride in my instructor's car at the track and wasn't impressed. I like the looks of the GT3RS with it's wide rear though. Get the GT2 and have the best of both.
hmmmmm all depends what you do... I had the 997 tt and 997 gt3 and 997gt3 re,,,, so I can say from exp,, I would take the 997 gt3 period... I thook the 9973 on dates and to the track very refined car
Not to disrespect Tom ,,,, but I drove my Speed Yellow 997 gt3 once on the track no alignment done no set up done. Pagid yellows Hoosier r6's I ran two sessions just to try it out I was timed at 2:06's in traffic ,, which is respectable time in a de with 40 mins track time,,, they are more than capable cars

Say your car is worth $60K today. If you put a tonne of miles on it, but maintain it well, it should bottom out lows 40s, say $40K for the sake of argument. I'm coming up with the $40K number, based on seeing very few nice condition Turbo Porsches of any era being available at under that figure.
Most likely, if you get a GT3 it will lose more than $20K in 2-3yrs, based on it not being limited edition, facelifted car coming out with possibly a small bump in hp etc. Maybe it will bottom out at around $70k ish in 4-5 yrs, but who knows. For holding value, you might be better off with a GT3RS since that is defintely a limited edition car.
Anyways, in many situations logic goes out of the door when you get passionate about something!
