The CLK race is 3 minutes into a 9 minute video. A stock 2003 X 50 996TT (silver) raced the CLK Black several times and the race was close. The 996TT had 1 car length until they both let off at 130mph. mY 05 tts has a flash so it is slightly modified.

Is concensus that flash + exhaust on a K16 car will take a E55 in a stoplight race?

Why not just upload a much smaller version to Youtube or use a normal format such as AVI/MOV/MPEG?

I'm running an Apple machine and can't watch it.....and I always want to watch the videos you post lol

Adobe flash is available to Mac's too. Go to Adobe.com and download the plugin for free. If you have issues still, I will get you a link to the full super vga version. It may take 14 hours to download.

top speed= 155 mph

Here is the Roat Test Data from three different mags on the stock 2000-2001 996TT:

Car and Driver September 2000 test so the car is an 01:
0-60= 3.9
1/4 mile= 12.3
Top Speed=192 mph

Road and Track November 2000(another 01):
0-60= 4.0
1/4 mile= 12.4
TS= 190 mph

Motor Trend November 2000 (another 01):
0-60= 3.98
1/4 mile= 11.92
TS= none listed

The average 1/4 mile time is=12.2 for the 996TT. Seems like they are very close in the 0-60 but once you start building up the speed, the porsche seems to pull out ahead if you do your part that is.

By way of Comparison the BMW M6 tested on July, 2006 did the following:
0-60= 4.1
1/4 mile= 12.4
TS= 162

Seems like they are all close enough that a bad driver makes all the difference. Until you get into the curves and the 996 walks away. Top speed is astronomically different though, the 996TT is well past the other two in TS
Keep in mind there are many documented bone stock e55 that have run under 12.5 (there is actually a few that have gone 11.9-12.0 stock). Only problem with the blown v8 is that MB decided to half *** the intercooler so the S/C suffers from a lot of heat soak so if you run it a few times back to back the power is hindered significantly. Even top end runs show heatsoak issues (part of the reason the m5 tends to walk away at higher speeds).

Yes. But the 55 series cars can be modded pretty extensively as well!

Starting with a smaller blower pulley...

My buddies stock 2006 E55:

60 ft == 1.8
330 == 5.132
1/8 == 7.874 sec
mph == 89.31
1/4 mile == 12.23
mph == 113.39

(I found this on one of my time slips when we ran each other)
