One Lap of America, Texas stage

A friend of mine, Rami (some know him from the TX2K Supra meets), went to the One Lap event at Texas World Speedway in College Station and took these pics. Pretty cool:

Great vid, that guy was really wrestling that thing through the corners.

You caught him pretty easily up on the embankment.

That driver is very good, and club races in Gt1 in the PCA in a 3l 944 turbo. Supposedly one of the best drivers in the instructor pool. I was worried about being too close in the corners half expecting him to be staring straight at me nose-to-nose at any moment. His passenger (Viper owner) was close to puking at the end when we pulled in - cold sweat, pale as a sheet!

After riding along with an instructor before (in a car with much higher cornering speeds then mine), I know the look/feeling.

They ran in the rain, top lap time was 2:15 by the ACR Viper and 2:30 and over for the rest of the field. Really disappointed at the times. We ran all weekend long at 2:00 - 2:01 in traffic to get the pavement seasoned for them too!

Had it not rained, I think there would have been several cars in the 1:55-2:00 range including the Viper and the Porsche's...

I want to come play. TWS is a fun track.

One Lap of America looks like a lot of fun. I hope to do it in the next couple of years.
