One Lap of America, Texas stage
TWS only cost me (2) rear Pilot Sport Cups, 2 fender liners, and 2 air intake hoses.
Not bad really. Love the track. I am certain that some would have been running sub
1:55's. Certainly that well prepped Viper ACR would have had a shot at 1:50.
Atomic: One Lap...your car or mine?

"You gotta pay to play..."
I've learned that over and over for the past 15 years as I've been having fun modifying and driving my cars over that time. Next year for TX2K9 we will probably go back to MSR Houston, which tends to be a bit easier on the cars...

I am really serious about doing this event. Maybe we could find some sponsors to help with the cost. Tough to take off work plus all the cost for the event.
Is MSR as much fun as TWS? I really liked TWS.
MSR is a great track. It has some good technical turns, but there is no elevation change which IMO is what makes TWS such a blast. MSR is still a great way to spend the day or weekend. It does have a big advantage over TWS which is (other than the barrier wall at the entrance/exit) there is no place that is hazardous to your car if you go off track. At almost every turn, TWS has a hazard...ditches, concrete walls, tire walls, trees, bushes, refrigerators (although I think they finally moved those!).

They are very dissimilar. MSR(Houston) is like an extended auto-x. 17 turns in 2.4 miles versus 15 turns in 2.9 miles (TWS). TWS favors HP cars, MSR favors momentum more.
Turbo pack rat....all those turbos and K 16's on the car.
TWS is far more rewarding for a high hp car. It is a truly thrilling course. MSR is like a go cart track. However it is much safer, and closer to home.
