GIAC Race File

Do you guys recommend getting this?

Is there a noticeable difference? What's the HP increase over the normal 91 octane K24 file?

When I had it on my TT I did not notice any difference.Plus GIAC made me purchase the race file w/ the stock file. I could not just purchase the race file. Proto from now on.

I already have the 91 octane and stock. It would cost something like $250..

Ari,
i'll recommend it because it felt more aggressive & boost came on quicker when i put race gas in after Sam/Dan @SG installed my race file. They said approx. 35hp gain on race. I've only dyno mine on 4wd mustang dyno not w/ race gas yet so don't know exact gain. My TT is my weekend car as of late so i usually use race gas. Worth the difference for our turbos IMO.

I would stick with what you got. If HP goes up to 100HP it would be worth it. Just my opinion though.

Also Ari,
$250 probably costs less than a pair of your designer jeans. Shouldn't need to think about it for the additional 35hp+...We turbos are hp freaks man!!

How do you initiate the race file? or do you just add more octane and the computer adjusts?

The GIAC comes with a flash loader. Just plug it into the OBD port and select stock, 91 octane and race files. It takes about 20 seconds.

It was state of the art 3 years ago. Now everyone seems to have this ability.

They wanted the same from me, I just dropped a little more weight from the car. Not worth it from SG. But for $250 might be worth it.
