The difference between OEM BC and Greddy EBC...?
The difference in "feeling" between OEM BC and Greddy EBC...?
Hi
Some tuners like PROTO are running a Greddy EBC in their higher packages..
You guys that tried them both whatīs the difference between the factory oem boostcontroller and for example the Greddy Profec aftermarket EBC?
The reason I ask is that I think I will go with the Greddy version due to itīs flexibility..
I can easily run a higher boost on the higway when i tend to race some fast cars but in short pulls not pushing the engine to itīs limit. On the the track when I take every % out of the machine then I can lower the boost to save the engine, if I have to pass someone I can scramble the boost on the straight. Finally when itīs raining I can take the presure down to spring level to keep traction and not be one of the "Widow Maker" last victims
.
But
Will I lose the feeling in the car going with aftermarket EBC?
Will the boost come on in the same characteristics as OEM?
What would be the fastest setup at the track?

I run a Greddy profec B type S (with 3 rotary *****)in a twin turbo non porsche application. What I have found is:
The boost is more consistent, very predictible when properly tuned.
Spool up is increased.
Greddy BC's are good to like 40 psi.
The adjustable gain takes away any boost spike.
dial in 2 boost settings, hi, low, and off which would be plain wastegate pressure. I just set a high, then i turn the EBC off is my 'low' if its foul weather out.
Greddy controllers offer a remote steering wheel switcher, to change between hi and low on the fly.
You will like the greddy EBC.
hope I helped.

Puppan,
I don't know the answers to your questions, but I can say I really like using the Greddy EBC. Features I like and use daily are:
1) Real time LCD boost readout
2) Hi boost flashing display for 3 seconds after every pull, so you can easily see the high you are hitting after any pull
3) The ability to compare boost from the Greddy to the factory gauge - both my gauges read about the same, which is good to know and provides peace of mind.
4) Hi boost memory until cleared. I re-set mine almost daily and view the highest boost registered, usually once or twice per day.
On a non daily basis:
1) The ability to raise the boost a little bit if running high octane race fuel. The car runs awesome like this...
Overall, a very usefull and functional device.

The Greddy will cut boost, but only if a certain psi is exceeded.
I've been very happy with my EBC..it's nice to have complete control over what boost you run, and being able to crank it up when running race gas.

Sounds good guys!
I think I got the answers I wanted and it feels like I will go with the Greddy EBC.

Pete
