I will tell you that mine isn't above 10mpg, that's for sure. Closer to 6-7 if I remember correctly.

I would just imagine it sounds awesome, the modular ford motors are some of the best sounding motors out there
Guys dont be a bunch of affected EUROsnobs.
The FORD GT-40 won LeMans outright 4 times.
FORD engineering through COSWORTH supplied more Formula 1 racing engines, CART engines and wins than any other manufacturer. FORD's engineering resources and 2nd to none.
Porsche keeps evolving the 911 shape and declares that it will continue to do so indefinetely.
FORD evolves the GT40 and if you have seen it in person.......its a lot bigger and cool as can be.
Engineering on the car is 2nd to none. All the parts are like or better than Porsche
Supercharger is LYSHOLM used by Mercedes Benz.
Pistons Mahle Germany
Tanny Ricardo
Wheels BBS
Brakes giant Bembos
Aston Martin supplied the Aluminum body and carbon fiber
Sparco seats and Recaro (lear sigler sic interior)
Dynamic suspensions CANADA supplier
FORD didnt do anything wrong or shortcut this car. Yes..........when it is finally at the local dealer and magazines get their hands on it .....................we will get the final scoop.
Too bad its $150,000.00 and most dealers want $50,000-$100,000 over sticker.
Its a great car............but its going to tank in long-term value as IMHO..........its priced too high relative to badge and there are many Eurosnobs out ther that have the Buck$$ but would always buy foreign cars........they drive the market not the ocassional collector and if FORD builds 1500 GTs per year for 3 years (4500 total) the market will be saturated and it will become a $85-$100,000 car.
Cant wait to see a FORD GT battle with the Carrera GT, GT2 and other cars. I think it makes close to 600HP on good gasoline. With BBS wheels/Michelin slicks & catbypass pipes, pulleys and CAM 2 its a 700+HP monster that nothing will touch

But how can you say Ford did nothing wrong when this car weighs 3500lbs?! The original GT40 weighs about 2400lbs i believe. They stole the looks because that's "cool" but they completely butchered the legacy of the car. It should weigh 2900lbs, have a race biased suspension and r-spec tires. The goal should have been to BLOW AWAY the competition at the track like the original GT40 did. With the limited production they STILL would have sold every single one at a huge premium and then it would be something really special.

it was probably more a safety issue then anything else. Cars have to meet completely different standards then they did back in the day.
The original FORD GT40 is a super tiny little car designed in the early 1960s. The 2005 FORD GT is alot longer and wider and they made it that way for cabin room and much better aerodynamics & downforce. With USA federal DOT & EPA standards and alot of other factors cars are alot more complicated and heavy.
I also was disappointed that the car is 3300-3400lbs..............Carroll Shelby wanted Ford to get it to 3000lbs. That would have been a good number given A/C and power everything. Regardless.........even the Porsche Carrera GT is 3300+ with all the power accessories. Porsche management said the Carrera GT is heavy because the GT required extreme heavy duty( read monsterous & heavy) braking systems, transmission, and cooling systems and super strong chassis to safely control 600+HP. Same o same over @ FORD.
I complete disagree on your feeling that FORD committed a butchering of the FORD GT40 history. The cars are not exact replicas............I am glad that FORD had the ***** to build them.............hope to see them on the street and at car shows.
I didnt call you a Eurosnob.............but there are many Eurosnobs out there. You know what I mean. Porsche 944 (non turbo) and early 928 owners that would rather die than ever be seen driving a Corvette, Viper, or anything made in the USA.
Lear Sigler (sic) is an interior company that owns Recaro and was told supplied the high end interior. Optional seats by SPARCO.
Too bad the local dealers are asking and receiving an extra $50,000-$100000 over MSRP.
FORD GT should be a $85,000 3000lbcar with 5 year bumper to bumper warranty and then we would all be IN!!!!
Have a great weekend.

Good grief, do any of you people read magazine articles or news stories? The Ford GT did 202 mph in testing in Europe, 0 to 150 in 16.9 seconds in the Car and Driver test, and beat the GT3 by 2 seconds at Gingerman raceway in that same test. In what way is the GT2 stomping it? Even if a GT2 can beat a GT3 by two seconds at Gingerman, it's still only matching the Ford GT. Anyone here with a GT2 do better than 1:32.13 at Gingerman?
As to the goal of blowing everything away at the track, yes, I guess it did, short of a $400k price tag.
