Damn, Ryan thanks for bursting my bubble!

The digital speedo is for crap. It appears to "jump" ahead predicting how to change. I bought a g2x to get accurate gforce/speed data. I once looked down at the speedo to get an idea of how off it could be. On the main straight at Summit point it read 163MPH at the brake zone. I looked at the g2x data and the max speed for the entire session was 146MPH. One of the best learning tools out there is get a DAS and start analyzing the data.

Traqmate is already on my shortlist and should have been here last week. I also need a better recording device, so I may end up with a chasecam setup in the not so distant future as well...

Mike, I enjoy reading your posts after a day at the track. It seems that you and the car are becoming one.

Sorry to hear about the rain. I got down there late Sunday night, I wanted to arrive much earlier to check you guys out but my friend couldn't make it in time so we left pretty late. Monday was uneventful for me can't say the same for my friend. He lost his front brakes going into 1 and had to lay it down. No major damage and ran another session.

Hope to see you at Summit this summer.

Chris

Mike, I was 134-135 entering the esses on R6's so chances are even if the digital display is off by a little, you are still > 130 going in there. How much of that you can maintain once you get in there and on exit is the key as I was only exiting at 115-118 or so.

I know a guy in a bone stock Z06 ran a 2:09, and that is great, considering the best stock Z on fresh R6's that most people know of is a 2:07, so I think for street tires you are doing pretty good for yourself.

Keep it up, you and Drew are holding it down well for the mid atlantic northeast. Tom's going to be representing in Fla and I'll try and make due in ga,sc and al. Funny how the road racing aspect of this section has taken off in the last 8 months or so. I love it!!!!

I would say that you should definitely get a Traqmate system now as when you start running what looks like real times (which you certainly are), then the proof should be there to back it up for those who believe otherwise. Ill will admit though, 130 something does seem a BIT high into the esses with your setup that day, but I wont say impossible as I know how often I proved people wrong. As for holding down the fort in the NE, it looks Mike may need to take sole control...there is a possibility that I can trade my car straight up for a car that RHYMES with GTR (ehem...can anyone say 600 hp v10 w 1200 lbs of downforce?)

If who wants to do it? Keep me updated man, this is breaking news here. I hate to see you switch marquees but not one hard feeling for getting in an ACR.

hmmmm i dont know about acr... i would have to do some reading on them... i have never been on the track with someone who can drive these cars really fast.. i know the past year models are fast in the straights but usually i am in there *** everywhere else on the track.. but new ones must be better at turning... i will admit i am ignorant to the whole model

You're right Matt, the Viper tends to draw lesser drivers, or expose you if you're not VERY good. But I've never seen a very fast one either, but I know they have the potential. The ACR is in a different league altogether though than the rest of the Vipers.

It's easily cup car fast. A stock 997 Cup.

put it this way, the new acr is regarded as possibly the fastest road legal OEM track car...the car comes with aero that provides nearly 1000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph and has 600 usable hp...big brakes, adj KW variant race suspension, and some massive *****. The reason you havent been on the track with a capable one is most likely because you A) havent been with a new ACR and B) many who have them arent exactly Schumies or even near it. Steve Katz has one though, and it seems he couldnt be happier with it.
