Just got my Techart steering wheel!

I just finished installing my new Techart steering wheel. It is nicer than stock although I still like the E46 M3 steering wheel best. This Techart one is not as fat as the M3. I like fat steering wheels! The Techart SW looks and feels pretty good but if they made it fatter it would be even better.

Got it from CEC (from the Techart website/dealers):
http://www.techart.de/homee_gesamt.htm

$1150 plus core charge for your old steering wheel if you don't send your stock wheel back to them ($600). This is not cheap but the workmanship of the leather on the Techart wheel is amazing. Very nice!

That really is a great looking wheel...I like it. It looks like the leather isn't the same shade as the rest of the interior...is it just the camera, or is there a difference??

I think you have the option to have Techart on the bottom of the wheel but I elected not to.

It's partly my camera but the shade is a good match with the rest of the interior.

I;m with you man, e46 M3 has the best steering wheel! I ended up getting the FVD steering wheel, which is actually pretty thick but doesn't provide the grip like the e46 M3 steering.

Here's a shot of the FVD:

I waited about 4 weeks for it. It had to be custom made from Germany and shipped to Florida and then to Minnesota.

I looked at the FVD wheel also. It probably feels better than the Techart but it doesn't look stock. I've come to realize that it's not just the steering wheel that makes the M3 feel better. This may offend some Porsche people but I think the steering in the M3 is more precise - the car goes where you want it to go instantly when you turn the steering wheel. Also I'm still getting used to the balance of the 911 with the motor in the back but the E46 M3 with the 50/50 weight distribution seems to have a more balanced handling.
