New Wheels Finally!!!!
so that is how they stress test it, they tap it with a hammer to see if they crack, if not, they're go to go. so jk996tt, if you feel ok with that, then more power to you. i would just hate to hear about you getting hurt with them. hope you do some homework and good luck.
just want to get things straight. By Design is a great shop that provides goods to people that have no resorces or knowledge other than "Excellence" magazine. imagine if they were not around, there would be alot of people not being able to get there mods done, they invest alot to reach out to consumers. i doubt that they are aware if the wheels are truly DOT approved, they just know what their suppliers tell them. so i am not trying to bash on By Design i just think people should do a little research when purchasing a product from a non reputable manufacturer.

You're wrong. I bought the same wheels and a friend bought a set for his Phantom. He actually spoke to a representative from the manufacturer after talking to Michael. The wheels have had load testing and the components have had stress testing. In fact, all the components used are identical to the components that other wheel manufacturers use. Why keep knocking By Design?

How much did you pay for Mode 20? I wanted 20" for rear with 4.5" Lip or depper.
I have talked to Michael at Bydesign this week about 20" for rear of 996 wide body (Actually mine is custom wide body). the set up will be 19X8.5 with 235/35/19 for front same as stock and 20X11 with 305/25/19 for rear. He told me that already sold couple sets in 20"set up. What do you think about 20" wheels for Porsche. I was asked before at this forum. I need your opinion again.
By the way, Who is making TE wheels? I heard that those wheels made out of little unknown shop in California / Whittier(?) and they are using same part as HRE and Iforged...Is that true?

good, i hope i am wrong. i hope all these wheels are stress tested. I just am implying that things should be checked out when purchased from a unheard manufacturer. i am not knocking your business infact if you read it you will see my opinions of by design. i mean HKJ or bd employee. but if you want to try to call me out then, tuche. didn't mean to cause havoc, but i am here on this board to give my opinions whether you like it or not. i give responses in the most non-bias way i can. sorry if it isn't to your liking, but i don't recall bad mouthing anybody on this thread or any other thread i post. why so eager to make a defense with your 6 post history. just post an attachement or web site where we can see the stress reports, how many revolutions it can hang with. next time i suggest using a little more gray matter before being so obvious.

The wheel looks H O T! I wanted to buy it but was concerned about the strenght of the design.
1. The spokes are are thin.
2. The spokes are not straight but curved. Last time I checked a physics book that was not strong.
My decision was to pass on a good looking rim for safety's sake.

Before they sent you the wheels, they should have educated you about the need to be rolled...I got my wheels from them also
