The Official Vivid Racing ECU Flash Review Thread
emailed them 4 times over a month and no response! Also why are the after flash numbers different on softronictuning.com 495hp and 503torque and there main site softronic.us which posts 496hp and 543torque for the same money?
I also emailed softronic this morning (Softronic@aol.com) at 6 am Central and had a response by 9am, not too shabby. Emails could be being caught by the spam filter. Anyway as mentioned Call Dan, he "lives" on this board.

Mr Gearhead... I am probably one of the most punctual, responsive, and attention to detail person you will ever talk to. I work 24 hours a day. I dont know who you emailed, but it was not us.
Now you bring up these numbers, which are you referring to. X50, K16, crank HP, dyno whp? Some more info would help address your questions.

sqeaky wheel gets the grease I guess, they have now responded but unfortunately no answer on the different performance numbers? Dan to answer your question the numbers come directly off both websites and both are for stock K16 turbos. Any ideas why? Thanks

I'm talking about what softronic posts on their main home site (softronic.us) and what is posted at softronictuning.com same companys flashes but have different performance numbers for the stock k16 base flash. HP the same but torque is 543(softronic.us) instead of 503?(softronictuning.com) Correct me if I am mistaken.
Vivid Racing now offers its own tuning at www.vrtuned.com. Read our FAQ, see applications, and order. We are no longer affiliated with or sell the other brand of tuning.

Don't forget to get the Durametric Software and Dongle at the same time. You can use the same dongle and perhaps save a little cash in the process.
Just flashed a 996TT here in under 30 mins from read out to write with Softronic's new Flasher Client

Different cars and dynos. So number could be different. You should look dyno graph for gain Hp/Tq area over stock. It would give you idea. My 2 cents.

I bought the Softronic tune about 30 days after I got my car. I watched this board, talked to a few vendors (GIAC, EPL, AWE) and ultimately decided to purchase the Softronic through Vivid Racing.
Dan was great to work with.
The cable arrived the day after I order the tune. Took the car over to a friend's house and we downloaded the stock file (took about 6 or 7 minutes) and the file was automatically emailed for modification. 90 minutes later the modified file arrived via email (along with a copy of the original file), we hooked the cable back up, uploaded the new file (took 12 minutes). The difference was noticeable immediately.
The additional power was hard to believe considering the ease and cost of the modification. But what really struck me was the improvement in drivability - it made the car much more enjoyable in normal driving.
I never pay attention to the gas mileage so I can't speak on that issue.
Cost - a bargain.
Convenience - couldn't be easier
Would I use Softronic again? Absolutely and I would get it from Vivid Racing.
Hands down the best "bang for the buck" modification available and performs "as advertised".
