Trade in for 996TT for 2007 MB CLS63 AMG?
#23
A dealer might want to get $75 to $79 for a low miles 2007 CLS63 , If you get a good deal you can find it between $55 to $59 with mid miles , pretty much on the range of a 2001 or 2002 TT

2007 CLS63 MSRP: ~$95,000
2012 Value: $47,500
Current KBB Trade in Value of 2001 996TT with 18,000 miles: ~$55,000
I think that my 996TT will probably be worth less than $47,500 in 2012.
Are my approximations on par?

Well if the rule that a vehicle loses 50% of its value in the first 5 years holds true...

I would not be surprised that if you kept your 996TT and sold it in 2012 you can buy almost 2 CLS63 at that point. AMG cars are not known for holding its value.
But I gotta tell you, it depends on your use. If you are looking for a comfortable cruiser the AMG is a good choice.

Keep the TT. Upgrade the stereo to one with nav/bluetooth (I did with Avic D3...others are out there for more cost now....and then). Mod a bit, do DE's, etc. The 996TT offers a lot.
I briefly read the AMG forum about 6 months ago and those things fall in value like rocks. They are also, seemingly, very very prone to problems and cost a lot to fix. Not that a 996TT doesn't, but you have a bit deeper internet help depth on the 996TT front probably (slave and accumulator for me, but in posts I got "do this because it is that and don't waste your time on x, y, z).....
Depends on if you have a good indy, etc.
Rent a corvette for a week and then go back to the porsche....or something else. Lots of guys want change. The problem with a TT is that not much is better...
