anyone have those small coolant leaks by the front tires?

I had a tiny leak that would appear then go away. Never a bigger puddle than a quarter. Pulled the radiator, presure tested it, everything ok.

Leak would be there one day then not happen again for a month or two.

I was driving Friday at a rather high rate of speed and BAM, that same front left radiator came loose. The bottom base [plastic] actualy separated from the cooling fins, popping half of it out of the retaining clips that hold it and the gasket in place.

So, word to the wise.....if you have that intermittent leak and don't decide to replace the radiator, hope you are close to home WHEN it finally lets go!

Did you get a new radiator. Did you ever catch it leaking? I think I am having the same problem.

When I checked the radiator the first time I could see where it had been leaking simply from the coolant that had seeped/weeped out and dried on and around the radiator. I also had quarter sized puddles of antifreeze under my driver front tire about once per month. Yeah....only about the size of a quarter.

I bought a new radiator today and had it overnighted. I will put the new one in tomorrow- meanwhile the car remains on jackstands in my garage minue the bumper, radiator and whatever little coolant was left in it.

The radiator just separated at the seam.....oh well...live and learn. Make no mistake though, if it happens you cannot do anything more than coast to a stop. The coolant POURS out of the seam..basically the entire radiator is now a pipe with the spigot under the car!

I had exactly the same issue (on myC4S) with coolant dripping on garage florr at the front of car. I took it to the dealer and they figured it out -- it was not radiator itself but instead a small leak along the coolant hose...

Hi...Most of the time the stock headgasket is the cause... They like to leak under boost... Sorry to hear that this happen to you... It is no joke trying to stop with the coolent all over your tires...My hose on the pass side with the tee in it let lose under power and sent me side ways deep in the three digits!! I change the hose and my briefs, yes the briefs were frist to be done .... Tim
PS do you get a little white smoke at start up?

Make sure to also check the "Y-pipe" in the right front wheelwell periodically. With the cars being a few years old now, it's good maintenance. They're made like crap and are known to burst without warning and drain all of your coolant in a matter of seconds. Ask me how I know - luckily I was literally at a rest stop when it happened.

Mine did the same thing...it was a leaky radiator and pipe on the passenger side but I hear it's more prevalent on the driver's side.
