I voted for vegas as well, mostly for selfish reasons.
It's the closest and I don't have to spend that much time on the road or away from family/work.

Btw, vegas is the kinda town where it's more "fun" without the spouse, unless your spouse is the kind that want to be in on the "fun" as well

I'm surprised no one from the east suggested Miami/SouthBeach.
Isn't that a happening place as well? It is according to Wild-on E!

Vegas is not going to be fair for most of the east coast folks both in terms of time, money, and risk.

I'd like to see more west coast folks vote for some places closer to the east to show that they are open-minded and can put their money where their mouth is.

I like NYC (especially SOHO) but it's not a fun place to drive around in.

Thinking out of the box, it'll be a coup if we can get a NPO sponsor to pay for the drive out. Sort of like a fund/awareness raising event. We can do it for a good cause and get reimbursed for our "trouble" somehow

Yes, SOBE is an amazing spot but now you are talking across and down more out of the way. Not very central at all

Okay one thing - how many members on this forum? If this is going to happen 6Speed members need to get involved.. We are talking about a great deal of effort involved not to mention time.

Those of you that have done meets in you area (Britt, Xico, Orlie Fred, Ken) you know what I'm talking about

Lets get this meet up and running

I vote Other...Colorado because it's VERY Close and the fact that we have amazing roads to drive on and there are a ton of things to do..in Denver and the surrounding Mountains....Aspen is 4 hours away..Breckenridge is only two..and Vail is only 2/12..Not too Flippin Hot here either....Unlike Vegas where it is most likely around 105++ Degrees EVERYDAY of the Summer Months.

Driving in hawaii is a dog, Kirby

I vote for the Ring, the Nurburgring.
That'll make it fair for nearly everyone.
For the amount of money some of us will be spending to go across country, germany is not that different.
It'll be the trip and drive of a lifetime!

I haven't voted yet. I would consider the long and expensive trip to Vegas if it is centered around the time of the Open Road Racing events. That would be May/June 2005.

I am not adverse to shipping my car out to that location, with the expensive fee to do so, but it seems there should be some equalizing and/or motivating factor for the east coasters. I know for certain that many people will simply bag out if it comes to this.

The point of this is to finally unite the various people around the country that have spent so much time getting to know each other on line. Yes, admiring of the cars is nice, tracking the car is nice, vacationing is nice, but admit it, the point of this is to meet the people. Otherwise why bother bringing your car to Las Vegas?? We could all just go on having our little meets around the country and be happy. We need to get an overall consensus and it has to be made up the various demographics that make up six speed. It cannot be just the west coasters or else they will be the only ones attending.

I hate to say it, but even though Vegas has everything to offer it almost comes down to a measure of good faith with the west coasters stepping up to a more equitable location based upon travel distance and cost. I am an extremist and it is not much of a bother to me having ben to Vegas and knowing what it has to offer but others will feel differently and simply not attend due to the inequality and costs involved.

Ken is right... Many will say fine for Vegas from the south/east, then bag... I for one love Vegas... But to me it is to much to think that you will get the turnout you would with a more central location so everyone has to put in the same effort, time and cost to attend whether they are coming from the east or west coast.
