Anyone here with event planning/sponsoring background or experience? Maybe could take charge and coordinate/negotiate this?
Cole, Don, we may be on to something.

for the current status of what is happening with the event organization. Midwest & Texas members needed.
Twin Turbo "High Roller" Shootout
The Twin Turbo “HIGH ROLLER†Shootout is tentatively scheduled to be held in Las Vegas on November 10th and 11th, 2004. We have reserved the inner road course and the super speedway (oval) on the 10th and the Drag strip on the 11th at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway -LVMS.
We would like to invite the “Planning Committee†from 6speedonline to coordinate a possible dual event. My apologies for being vague but the details are subject to change and too involved to go into at this time. If Las Vegas is your destination of choice for your “national get togetherâ€Â- now is the time to plan the event.
Go to www.Twinturboshootout.com and press the pre-qualify button for my contact information.
Regards
Tim

I know Curt was the pro who was used. Who was the con?
Anyone have connection in the entertainment biz?
Get the producer of the Vegas TV show to put the 6Speed National Meet in one of their segments.
And get Bellagio to host us.
We'll let them film some of the cars and drivers

Alex or Tim,
Either or both of you interested in taking charge or know who may? If location is going to be Vegas, would be helpful for one of those in charge is from Vegas, imo.

Actually to be fair to all the members, the national meet should be in the center of the country. Then take into account farm vs. city, and your left with Texas. The national meet should be held in texas to be fair to everyone.
What about an east coast gathering in South Carolina and a west cost gathering in vegas, and then a journey to the center for a combined meet for the hard core guys. I talked with KPV for a bit and Myrtle Beach SC is almost exactly equidistant from NY and Miami... 700 miles or about 9 hours drive.
I would be up for Texas, Dont forget its the home of the Texas Motor Speedway. Heres the schedule
With alot of people we could rent the whole track.

Participation for even a "central" location will be spotty anyway and more suited for the hard core guys.
Participation for a coastal location however, could be as high as 80-90%. Besides, not everyone on either coast have met each other yet.
