V Flow air cleaner-maintenance?

Hey Guys, what maintenance is required on a V Flow?I have just cleaned and oiled mine with a K&N kit prior to a trackday and now I'm worried [after reading the discussion on MAFs].Should I wash the oil out?

I have a screen type filter on top of the paper filter. I don't believe I need to clean it.

Oil will not damage the MAF. However, a good way to prevent oil from getting on the MAF in the first place is to start the car after reinstalling the newly cleaned and oiled filter run it for a few minutes and rev it a few times WITHOUT the MAF installed. This will pull any excess oil on the filter, safely into the intake. Then reinstall the MAF and you are good to go.

1999Porsche911,done that.Thanks.

MY996TT,I would think that the paper filter will eventually clog up depending on usage and environment.Mine is the cone shaped filter with cloth in between two layers of fine gauze. It looks identical to a K&N so I assumed that cleaning and oiling would be the same.

My paper filter is dry, I don't believe I need to oil it. When things clog up the screen filter, I can remove and clean it easily.
