Lou, I almost bought an 03 polar silver until I saw it next to an artic silver. I guess it depends on the person but my dad hated the polar silver and paid much more money just to buy our artic at napleton. Make sure you see the car in day and night. Car looks real silver in the light but gets the baby blue goin in the night. The resale value is not a problem with polar silver. If you only have the car for six months just do it. Are you looking at the ps GT2 at luxury motors? Dan

I have to agree. Polar is an outstanding color. My second favorite TT/GT color, no question.

My favorite color for a turbo or GT2 because it has a special appeal. It always reminds me of the 959.

To my eye, Arctic Silver, when seen next to Polar Silver, looks faded and washed out. Polar Silver has a richer, deeper appearance. And yes, there is a blueish hue in Polar that I think is cool. Under most artificial lighting, especially fluorescent, Polar Silver seems to glow, and the bluish hue is somewhat accentuated.

Lou, Polar has the most blue in it on overcast days, its a personal preference to some, I prefer Arctic, if you buy it just drive it on sunny days.

You'll know if it's for you when you look at it. I was looking for either AS or PS until I saw them side by side. For me the AS was the winner.

Lou,

good luck with your decision. I too had similar concerns. When I bought my turbo I had it lined up next to arctic and as others have mentioned, it looks cleaner. Somehow, arctic looked a little dirty. I must admit that my own bias would be cobalt blue. always been a big blue fan and always will. This car does not look blue but darker weather does bring out the blue hue, but not much. I am too lame to setup a link, but if you look up my monicur: gabf1 in member gallery I have 6-8 pics of my car on a sunny day in santa barbar when I first got it.

Hope this helps.

regards

polar is the best and classiest shade of silver there is, just don't like the metro blue interior.

wow, polar silver is so nice in that last pic. I was wondering what silver the gt2s came with stock and which one was an option. I wouldnt think that porsche would offer 2 silvers for the same car, right? I think my dad has arctic silver on his 02 gt2, but I cant be sure. How would i find out? Ive looked for info on the factory stickers, but i cant find any color info. ANy help?

if there is one silver to get...this would be it. I've always been a fan of polar...actually wanted to get it, but at the time, there wasnt one around and luck would have it that right after I purchased my Black Turbo, I got a call from a dealer out west that located one!

In any event....I've always been a fan of silver...but this time around I needed something different...black. I never regret going to black...it still is IMHO...the best looking color on a Turbo (especially after it's just been detailed).

If you can get into a turbo for 6 months and then get right out of it...go for it...you have nothing to lose.

99% chance it's Arctic. I have only heard of 2 Polar GT2s other than ours.
